Julie Joseph
With a career in childcare beginning in the late 1980’s Julie has enjoyed a varied range of care and business experience and created Common Thread in 2004. Julie is a qualified Dance Movement Psychotherapist specialising in working with adolescents and trauma.
She has presented her work at conferences in the UK and Europe and is published in 3 books, Handbook of Musical Identity, Oxford Press, Dance Movement Therapy: Theory, Research and Practice, Routlege and Embodied Approaches to Supervision: The Listening Body, Routledge.
Julie is also a qualified supervisor and a student of the Discipline of Authentic Movement.
Driven by a curiosity about why acceptable outcomes for young people seemed so difficult to achieve and a stubborn determination to challenge limiting beliefs Julie relentlessly asks of her organisation “Why?”
